Simple and straightforward. This app does what it claims with little fuss.

Purchased app to batch rename ID3 music file names with metadata stored on file. Worked for a total of 13 files before it stopped working. Tried renaming individual file - didn’t work. Tried restarting program - didn’t work. Tried restarting computer - didn’t work. Acts like it is working but nothing happens. I want my money back.
Since I began podcasting the number of shows has tripled. This piece of software has been updated and made my life easier. I can retag off dropbox, do multiple files at once, and am now producing an audio book album that this has shown to be invaluable. Anyway.. it has helped me a bunch
At first, I had a difficult time getting to do what I wanted but once I got use to it, it does what I need it to do.
Does a great job with tag editing and adding artwork. The only thing missing is the ability to set the explicit flag for iTunes. This isn’t available in iTunes either but it can be done with Subler.
i paid for this simply because it had the most reviews and thought it might allow me to define a custom m4a tag field. I was wrong.
Get this one! Excellent for batch tagging!
Don’t even brother with this crap. It does not work!
This is by far the best MP3 tag editor I have come across for both the Mac and Windows platform. It allows you to edit all tag elements for an individual song, or you can optionally apply one or more tag element changes to either all or some of the songs in your selection. It does a great job with finding album artwork, and it gives you several sources for finding and copying lyrics. Another great feature is the fact the you can have it rename the files (on the file system) based on tag elements, along with spaces, dots, dashes or however you want to format a file name. Plus, it is fast. GREAT app! One feature request: A setting in preferences that allows you to suppress the confirmation dialog boxes that pop up after a tag edit or file change is saved.
I will raise to 5 stars when WAV support added.
I shouldn’t have to know how to use regular expression coding to use the filename to tag function. there is no true assistance and it sends me to a wiki page telling me to learn it. the pc version of music tag editor simply let me choose categories like “%artist% - %title%” to batch convert all my files… not very happy after paying for it
A music MP3 editor that does not give you BPM as an option.. Thought this was a no brainer.. Dont waste your $6… Or your time.. I
Two problems with the software: 1) Strips Id3.1 tags without asking. You have to change the settings to stop it. 2) Saves tags in Id3.24 format not supported is Id3.23. This causes problems for podcasters like myself. 5 weeks of problems!
I use this application to tag my FLAC files, strangely it doesn’t tag several mp3 files well, so I use iTunes for that one. Since I’ve got an extensive FLAC collection, this application really hits the nail on the head for that when it comes to tagging details. I really appreciate this application! Thanks developers!
DOESNT WORK< CHANGES NOTHING AND RUINS YOUR FILES SO THEY ARE UNPLAYABLE IN ITUNES!! STAY AWAY!!! I WANT A REFUND THIS SOME STRAIGHT UP YOU KNOW WHAT!!
I cannot express how useful this app has been to me! I use it every weekend for a podcast. It is my faithful companion and has yet to fail me. Great work!
I just got rid of my Windows laptop, where I used a FREE, robust mp3 tag editor, Tagscanner (I donated $20 to developer). I have not found an equivalent for Mac OSX. Music Tag Scanner 2.6.0 is the most robust tag editor I’ve found for a fair price ($6), but I would love to see some improvements (see review below): Pros: - Easily and intuitively batch edit metadata for all your mp3’s - Batch rename multiple files from user selected metadata - Saves your changes as you edit and asks to confirm quitting before changes are saved. Nice! Suggestions: - Customizable columns such as sort by “Album” - Please remove prompt/notification that says "files have been saved!” - Please remove prompt to “save over original file” and make option in preferences to save files in new directory (overwrite should be the default) - Please save only files that have been modified. Saving changes to unchanged files = redundant - Would love built in playback controls: play/pause, stop (vs the “preview” button that takes opens a new window) - Would love to start playback by double-click the song (vs showing file info) - Please create “apply to all” checkbox for “lyric” field Looking forward to singing praises for improvements, Thanks!
This is a good, solid media tagging program that is straightforward and easy to use. Essentially it does exactly what I want and does it logically and easy. I would like it to be able to play the audio files as well. Yes, I can do that with QuickTime (or with iTunes if I want to import the songs there). I have a DJ business with probably 80,000 LEGALLY-obtained music files but I want them to be tagged the way I want them to be tagged and this program lets me do that. But if I could hear the songs as I’m tagging them that makes it easier to categorize by our own definitions, but the easy workaround is to simply open the file in both QuickTime and this editor at the same time. The program is solid and reliable as well - no issues whatsoever.
I was a sucker and paid $6 for an app that lets me edit ID3 data for songs in my iTunes catalog. Just as iTunes does. I assumed it would allow searching for songs with missing tags. It doesn’t. I assumed it would try to fill in missing data automatically if requested. With the exception of album covers, it doesn’t. It does nothing you can’t do better with iTunes.
It does exactly what I need it to do. Adds the art and other info I need to my MP3 files.
